How You Can Help Fundraising
Fundraising Tips and Successes

If you can think of other creative ways of
generating additional income, please get in touch.
- The Art & Craft Fair held in November 2006 raised
the fantastic sum of £800. This was largely
due to the generosity of artists and craftspeople
who donated pictures, stained glass and other items
for sale. The timing was also crucial - just right
for buying Christmas presents.
- One sponsor raises funds for LET by donating her
speaker's fees.
- Another sponsor asked her employers to donate to
LET instead of sending Christmas cards. This raised
£400 for the Trust.
- Sponsors and Trustees have organised Tea and Garden
Parties. The 2007 Garden Party raised £912.
- Two supporters are planning to complete the Tough
Guy challenge and raise money for the Trust.
- Sponsors have raised awareness among their family,
friends and colleagues. Result: several individuals
deciding to make a one-off or regular donation.
- If they are retired, or have limited funds, you
can suggest that people donate to LET instead of giving
you Christmas or birthday presents.
- Make a donation in kind. Or, you can make a promise
which can be auctioned. You may have resources or
expertise which others are willing to pay for. Examples
might be a tutorial, guided walk, cooking dinner.
- Organise a "snowball" party: have a tea
party of coffee morning. Invite five friends who will
pay at least £2 and agree to then invite at
least two friends for a similar party who hold their
own party, and so on.
- In 2009 a poetry anthology will be published to
raise funds for LET. If you would like to pre-order,
please get in touch.
